How To: Get The Most Out Of Your Stardollars

My lucky number 7 steps to getting all that you need from a limited amount of Stardollars

Since New DKNY, LE, Vivienne Tam, Philosophy, and Elle Collections have come out and another collection, Miss Sixty, is set to come out, we have all been completely out of cash. I know first hand that it has been hard to get all that I want on the limited Stardollars that I have. So I have developed 7 steps that will keep your wardrobe AND your wallet happy at the same time.

Buy Essentials First .

Essential Items are those items that every girl needs in their wardrobes. These are the items that you use over and over again. I have created outfits using most of the essential items that every girl on Stardoll needs. Once you have these, you can make countless outfits and never have to make a run to the store to get something you need. This is where you mix the Statement Pieces and create a balance that is undeniably beautiful.

Re-use! Re-use! Re-use!

Many cannot find too many different ways to use an item and keep going for the obvious. But each piece that you buy has countless uses. It is simply up to you to find them. So as you can see in the picture above, I experimented with Fallen Angel's Smoking Vest and created three very different looks and used the vest in three different ways. You can dress it up or down, and girly or edgy. The way you put together the outfit shows your personal style completely. You don't have to buy so many things if you can discover new ways to use your old ones.

Creativity is Key .

Experimenting with clothes can lead to great finds. A top may not just be able to work as a top. You may be able to turn it into a dress or skirt. I took three pieces above and used them in new ways. The center one that I made into a dress used to be a knee-length skirt. If yoy were making a work approporiate outfit, than it would be great. But I turned that skirt into a Victoria's Secret appropriate minidress. Look at all three pictures to see the type of ideas you should be looking for. If you can make a little black dress, than you may not need to buy a little black dress and end up saving some cash.

Splurge on Color .

When shopping, it is perfectly okay to splurge on items. But when you do, try to choose items that you will want to use over and over again. And also try to splurge on colorful items. because it is easy to find affordable black and white items. Items with color make a statement. And that is the kind of item you should be spending your money on. In the three outfits above, I splurged on one colorful item each. I then completed the outfit with affordable black and white items. The black and white items are all 5sd and lower. This shows that you don't need 6 designer items per outfit. You can work with less.

Take Advantage of Accessories

Accessories can make an outfit. They can turn a boring ensemble into something that any stylish fashionista would be wearing. Accessories are affordable, reuseable, and can go from one style to another. So feel free to buy all of your favorite accessories because you will be sure to use it over and over again. In the three outfits above, I used simple clothing but dressed them up in accessories. Accessories can make a dress look completely different from the way it looked when you bought it.

Stay Away from Seasonal Trends .

Certain trends may be wearable during the season, but would look foolish during any other time of the year. Spend money on items that look good in your current season, but can be pulled apart and used in outfits that could compliment a different season. It is all about the way you put together an outfit. You can look stylish in any season when you buy items that can transcend from one time to another. Above is two different outfits. The Left shows exactly what to avoid, while the Right shows exactly what you should be looking for. Follow these rules and you should be Golden.

Layer Old For New .

Take a good look into your wardrobe and and find those old items that you don't like anymore. Don't write those off yet. Layering is a great tool to give an old item a brand new look. Layer different colors and create an outfit that it perfect for the season. Solid Tee Shirts work great for this. Especially when they have different cuts and necklines. You can put different colors together and really show your style. Different prints can work as well. But make sure that the prints aren't to different or the outfit will look all over the place.

So I hope that these 7 steps help you in the current cash slump that most seem to be in at the moment. With all of these Real Brands coming out, we are going to need a plan! And this one above is perfect. These steps can not only help you save money, but help you improve your style as well. It is a win-win situation so why not try this?
